In the evening of 19th January 2007 some friends of mine (Susanne Lamken, Iris Rettig, Petra Kirsten) and I sat together and had a lot of fun. Amongst others we talked about the upcoming Dragonboat Race and that our husbands company didn´t accept spouses to join them on the company boat. Therefore we decided to arrange a „German Housewives Dragonboat“ and a few days later Susanne Lamken and I started to organize everything what’s neccessary. However, we quickly realized that we couldn´t get enough german ladies. Hence, wealso started looking for either men and „ non-germans“ to fill our boat. After quite some work of organization and training we finally joined the Dragonboat Race in Discovery Bay in 2007 for the very first time and reached 24th place out of 30 teams. We even made it to 17th in 2008. After the race we had such a nice party. I hope it will be better and better from year to year ......
